Elena Morris


Elena Morris was born (Elena Khruleva) in the city of Magadan located in the Far East of Russia in 1963.

As a child Elena was always interested in art and painting. At the age of twelve in addition to her other normal primary and secondary school studies, she was also attending classes at the Magadan Art school.

After graduating secondary school, Elena attended the Vladivostok Academia of Art and graduated in 1985 with a degree

 



in Fine art, Oil Painting and Teaching. In 1988 she attended the University of Art in Khabarovsk Russia and received her Masters in Fine Art, Oil Painting and Fine Art Teaching.

From 1992 until 2003 when she moved to Livermore California, Elena participated in numerous International and local exhibitions in Russia. She also taught Fine Art and Oil Painting at the college level in Russia.

Her works are kept in Galleries and private collections in Russia, the United States, Italy, Japan, China and South Korea. Since Moving to California in 2003 she has been building her current body of work and selling her paintings to private collectors in the United States.

Elena's Classical Art Skills are based on the Russian school of Oil Painting where realism and impressionism live and work together in chorus. It is a style that combines powerful realistic involvement with the soft and lyrical looseness of impressionism.
