Call for artists, Orchids Under the Oaks January 9,10
Posted November 23
Alden Lane is holding its 4th annual Orchids Under the Oaks event. They are looking for artists that may be interested in exhibiting/selling at the event. In the past this has been strictly an orchid show, but they would like to expand the venue to include artists with a botanical flair, especially orchids. This would be housed in a heated, indoor area, 10x10 booths run $200, and the event is Jan. 9th and 10th, 10am to 4pm. They do an extensive advertising campaign which includes their e-newsletter, a circulation of 5000, 10,000 flyers, posters, ads to all garden and orchid clubs within a 50 mi. radius, plus special interest groups and press releases. Clark Sorensen is displaying a special sculpture for the event. This is a free event to the public, and well attended. Their greenhouse houses a beautiful exhibit of orchids brought in for display only from around the world. In the artists room they have space for 5 vendors, and there will be an orchid exhibit on pedestals called “Living Orchid Sculpture” to draw more attention to that space. For more information, contact Sue Fordyce at Alden Lane Nursery (925)447-0280 everyday but Friday and Sunday.

Each tile is one foot square and contains its own individual pictures within. All of them placed together form a mural 12 feet high by 18 feet long. You can click on each of the tiles to see them in detail. Check out the horse’s eye, click on it and you’ll see how fantastic this mural really is!
